When You Can’t See His Hand, Trust His Heart
“When you can’t see His hand, you can always trust His heart.”
Faith has never been about having all the answers. It has always been about knowing the One who holds them.
When we look through Scripture, we find women who faced moments of deep uncertainty—moments where God’s plan wasn’t clear, but His presence was enough.
Esther: Courage in the Unknown
Esther was an ordinary young woman who found herself in an extraordinary position. When she learned of the plot to destroy her people, she faced an impossible choice: risk her life by approaching the king uninvited, or stay silent and hope someone else would rise up.
Her cousin Mordecai’s words still echo through the ages: “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14).
Esther didn’t know how the king would respond. She didn’t know the outcome. But she chose to trust God’s heart, even when she couldn’t see His hand. And through her courage, an entire nation was saved.
Ruth: Faithfulness in the Everyday
Ruth’s story looks different. She wasn’t standing in a palace—she was walking along dusty roads with her mother-in-law, Naomi, after losing everything. She could have returned to her old life, but instead she chose a path of loyalty and love.
Her words were simple but powerful: “Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.” (Ruth 1:16).
Ruth didn’t know if she would find provision in Bethlehem. She didn’t know what her future held. But she trusted God enough to stay faithful in the ordinary, and that faithfulness became part of the lineage of Jesus Himself.
Trusting God’s Heart Today
Esther and Ruth remind us that faith looks different in different seasons. Sometimes it’s bold steps of courage. Sometimes it’s quiet loyalty in the unseen moments. But both are precious to God. Both are hallelujahs.
Maybe this week you’re standing at a crossroads, like Esther, needing the courage to step into something new. Or maybe you’re in a season like Ruth’s, where faithfulness in the small things feels hard but holy. Wherever you are, know this:
-
You don’t have to see the whole plan to take the next step.
-
You don’t have to feel strong to be held by His strength.
-
You don’t have to understand everything to know you are loved.
When you can’t see His hand, you can always trust His heart.
